Munich, January 21, 2025. The Munich-based battery manufacturer bebob announces changes to its sales team: Effective immediately, Matthias Klein (58) will take on the role of Senior Sales Director, overseeing international sales. He succeeds Christoph Aust, who will retire in March after more than 18 years at bebob but will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity. Matthias Klein brings extensive experience in film and video technology, having most recently served as Sales Manager Camera Systems at ARRI.
The trained broadcast and television technician, originally from Limburg an der Lahn, began his professional career as a video and studio technician before moving into sales for professional video technology in 1989. In 2008, he joined Arnold & Richter Cine Technik (ARRI), where he worked in camera sales until recently. During his time at ARRI, Matthias Klein also gained comprehensive insight into bebob’s entire product portfolio, as the battery manufacturer has been collaborating closely with the Munich-based camera manufacturer for a long time already.
At bebob, Matthias Klein will succeed Christoph Aust in managing existing and new customers and partners. His focus will be on the European market, supported by the regional sales managers. An increased involvement in the U.S. market is also planned for 2025.
“It has been a great pleasure for me to accompany bebob’s development for so many years and contribute to the company’s international success,” said Christoph Aust. “I look back with gratitude on the excellent collaboration with colleagues, customers, and partners—and I wish Matthias Klein all the best on his journey!”
“Replacing such an experienced and internationally recognised colleague as Christoph Aust is no easy task. We are therefore very delighted to have Matthias Klein, who has many years of experience in the industry, as his successor. As a manufacturer of premium products, maintaining strong professional and personal connections with our customers and partners is of paramount importance to us. We have already had the pleasure of getting to know Matthias in his previous role and are therefore confident that he will be an ideal addition to our team,” comments Prof Michael Erkelenz, Managing Director of bebob factory GmbH.
